Mesotherapy By Dermedics FAQ
Is Mesotherapy & Microneedling the same?
Microneedling is far more invasive than Mesotherapy. Mesotherapy is more cosmetic and works within the epidermis, where microneedling works in the upper layer of the dermis.
How long do results last?
Dermedics last anywhere from 9-13 months.
Is there any down time?
Because mesotherapy is noninvasive, there usually isn’t any down time. Many people are able to return to their regular activities right away. Your skin will be brightened and flawless immediately after the treatment.
How many Mesotherapy treatments do I need?
Like microneedling, it is recommended to do a series of 3-6 treatments for optimal results at least 2 weeks apart. A treatment plan can be discussed during consultation.
Is the treatment painful?
No, the treatment is not painful.
How soon after will you see results?
You will see immediate brightening results, however if we are targeting deeper pigmented areas it may take up to 3 treatments.
How do I prepare before and after my Mesotherapy treatment?
Prior to your mesotherapy appointment, please ensure you are not taking any blood thinners such as Advil and Aspirin at least 24 hours before and after treatment. If you are on a prescribed blood thinner, please consult your doctor prior to the appointment about whether it is safe to stop your medication. Alcohol, Omega 3’s and some other multivitamins may cause blood thinning as well and it is recommended to stop taking them 2-3 days before treatment.
After the treatment, it is also recommended not to touch or wash your face or hair for 2 hours. Makeup and skincare applications should be avoided. If the skin is dry, an unscented moisturizer may be applied. Unscented gentle cleansers may be used after the 2-hour post-procedure period. It is also recommended to change your pillowcase the night of the treatment before going to bed to reduce the risk of infection. It is best to avoid taking a hot shower 24 hours post-treatment to reduce the intensity of inflammation which may cause prolonged irritation. It is recommended to refrain from facials, hot tubs, saunas and steam rooms for one week to avoid potential infection and prolonged redness. Sleeping on your face is also not advised, as it causes further irritation of the skin. For additional questions and/or concerns please contact Essence Massage & Spa.
